I'm looking at this big band Christmas album from '94 "That Christmas
Swing", The Dave Williamson Big Band. The album credits says it was
recorded at Quad Studios Nashville, mastered at Mastermix by Hank
Williams, Jr.

I suppose it's possible there's more than one Hank Williams, Jr. Is
"Bocephus" known for having studio chops?

Look again. There is no "Jr.". There is a very good mastering engineer named
Hank Williams here. Not a junior, though.

Maybe whoever typed up the liner notes thought it was the "same" Hank
Williams (the family that is) and knowing that Hank Sr. was dead put Jr.

It is a different Hank Williams. I believe he is the owner of Mastermix
mastering studio in Nashville. I question whether he is really a "Jr" or
if that was a mistake.

It's easier when that is actually one's name.

No, it's another one. Is it possible that Mike Rivers was the DJ on
your local radio station in the late 1960's?

Sounds like a typical radio alias like "Bob Stevens" or "Rick Adams".
Many of these guys had a real name like "Aloysius Zbiegniewski" or
"Mortimer Snerd":-)

The mastering engineer isn't a junior. It is an interesting coincidence.
Mastermix is a great facility.

I would say that it is not the same Hank Williams Jr.
A couple of years ago, the company providing production for the Texas
State Fair rented some of our boxes and racks for side fills for the
Hank Jr. concert.
I saw the tech rider. SIX wedges just for Hank Jr. plus the side fills.
It was painfully loud. I would assume that Hank Williams Jr. the singer
is quite deaf.
